Open Studio Time

In the loft above the farm store we have a fully-equipped ceramics studio for adult use (age 18+) accommodating up to 12 people, complete with hand tools, 3 electric wheels, slab roller, extruder, glazing station, and kiln. Open Studio is for those who do not need hands-on instruction and feel confident working independently. Fee includes use of equipment, tools, glazes and firing. We take care of firing for you. No outside clay or glaze without prior approval. No food in the studio.

Reservations are not required but we recommend calling ahead to make sure there’s room 360-379-2434. 

Please make an appointment for your initial orientation to the equipment and facility.

(Note the studio is an unheated space).

 

Fee: Per Person $10 per hour or $25 for a full day

Includes use of tools, equipment, glazes and firing for projects completed in the studio.

Clay $20 for 25 lb.

Ceramics Handbuilding Workshops 2025

Learn ceramics fundamentals while creating your own works of art! 
This summer we're offering beginner ceramics workshops for adults 18+ May-September. 
Instructed by local artist, teacher, and ceramicist Charlie Van Gilder, our casual handbuilding workshop is designed for beginners or those who need a refresher. Workshops consist of two sessions scheduled two weeks apart. You can choose either Wednesdays or Saturdays (see schedule below).

In the first session you will create your clay piece(s), then return two weeks later for session two where you will learn to glaze and decorate your piece(s) to prepare for final firing. Techniques covered include pinch, coil, slab building, extrusion and proper glaze application. All supplies, tools, clay, glazes included.
